APEAL TO DISCUSS THE BENEFITS OF SEPARATE COLLECTION IN THE BALKANS

#06.09.2022 APEAL TO DISCUSS THE BENEFITS OF SEPARATE COLLECTION IN THE BALKANS

APEAL is delighted to join an impressive line-up of companies this 28-29th September to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities for packaging waste management across EU members states and candidate countries within the Balkans.

This is a great opportunity to meet representatives from waste management companies in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Turkey during a 2-day meeting led and hosted by Pakomak in N. Macedonia.

In light of the EU Circular Economy Package and the forthcoming review of the Packaging and Packaging Waste directive, Steve Claus, Sustainability & Circular Economy Officer at APEAL, will be sharing thoughts from the steel for packaging industry. Notably on the importance of separate collection for increasing recycling, the correct reporting of real recycling rates and our policy recommendations for closing the loop on steel packaging recycling.
