#30.08.2022 APEAL TO SPEAK AT SCANPACK SUMMIT 4TH OCTOBER
Alexis Van Maercke will be joining an exciting line-up of speakers at the forthcoming Scanpack Summit 4th October during Scanpack exhibition in Gothenburg, Sweden.
With a presentation focused on EU and politics, Alexis will discuss how policymakers and stakeholders across the European value chain can work together to increase understanding of the value of multiple recycling, increase separate collection of recyclable materials and work to eliminate landfill.
With 85,5% of steel packaging recycled in 2020, steel for packaging is the most recycled packaging material in Europe. Scandinavian countries are highly focused on sustainability, achieving individual recycling rates for steel packaging of between 84-90%.
But APEAL’s ambition is to reach zero steel packaging to landfill by 2025, and will propose six concrete policy recommendations to help achieve this.
