#17.01.2012 APEAL President to speak at debate in Brussels
APEAL President Robert Beltz will speak at the “Metal’s contribution to a resource efficient Europe” debate, organised by Metal Packaging Europe (MPE) in the European Parliament next 24th January.
The event officially launches MPE in Brussels as the umbrella organisation of metal packaging associations in Europe. It intends to raise awareness of the concept of metal as a permanent material with100% recycling potential and call upon all stakeholders, policy makers and legislators to work together towards a truly recycling society.
The intervention of Robert Beltz will focus on the environmental, economic and social benefits of recycling steel and demonstrate how the steel for packaging industry is an important and enthusiastic partner in achieving this true recycling society.
The event is hosted by Gerben-Jan Gerbrandy MEP and supported by the European Commissioner for the environment, Janez Potočnik. Participation is expected from different associations, industry representatives, policy makers and NGO’s.
