Protact developed by CORUS PACKAGING PLUS

Protact is an innovative breakthrough in polymer coated steel using the direct extrusion process, by which polymer granules are first melted and then applied to both sides of the steel base in a very thin coating. This results in a three-layer structure comprising a contact layer for adhesion, a main layer for protection, mechanical strength and colouring and a top layer for decoration. Protact has numerous applications, not only for aerosol parts, full aperture easy open ends and twist-off caps, but potentially also for deep drawn cans, food can ends and trays.

Excellent abrasion resistance and high corrosion performance against chemicals and in humid environments.

Good formability

Outstanding printing potential thanks to its top layer which allows for a unique tailored surface in terms of gloss, ink adhesion and compound adhesion.
