APEAL will organise its 3rd International Steel Packaging Congress on 25th April 2002 during Interpack in Düsseldorf on the theme of « Steel Packaging Effectiveness Throughout the value chain».

Consumer and retail needs

The consumer angle will be illustrated by unveiling recent, yet unpublished international surveys on the impact of various convenience and design features of packaging for consumers. The specific requirements and interests of retailers will be another focus for this third Congress. The effectiveness of packaging will be analysed from various angles :
• Design & Brand differentiation
• Environment & Consumer safety
• Innovation & Convenience
• Supply chain effectiveness
Live internet link-ups

Key industry figures will be present as speakers and participants in various discussion panels. Live interactive internet link-ups with key players world-wide will give the Congress a truly international dimension. Delegates will also have the opportunity to view the Steel Packaging Design Gallery; an exhaustive gallery of innovative steel packaging solutions.
The first Steel Packaging Effectiveness Award

The evening’s closing highlights will be a unique artistic performance plus the presentation of the first Steel Packaging Effectiveness Award 2002 at the gala dinner.
Charles Reuland, Communications Manager of APEAL, highlights the up-coming programme for the next Steel Packaging Congress : «Thanks to unedited consumer surveys and business testimonies, the Congress 2002 will unveil the key drivers behind the effectiveness of packaging solutions. This effectiveness will be analysed from different angles : supply chain effectiveness, design & brand differentiation, and innovation & convenience.
Moreover, the event’s format will differ considerably from classic congressional presentations and speeches. There will be a «samba» of audio-visual testimonials and live internet interventions from key decision-makers around the world. Two moderators focusing on the consumer and the business angles will help shed a creative light on the most recent uses and trends for steel in packaging."
